Welcome To My Practice!
My practice is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based care. I provide integrated psychotherapy and medical management, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs. When appropriate, I collaborate with trusted colleagues to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
I believe that successful treatment comes from understanding the whole person - their biology, relationships, experiences, and environment. My goal is to help patients and families build resilience, develop insight, and move toward lasting emotional well-being.
After booking an appointment, you MUST call and speak with the doctor at (718) 859-5897 to confirm your appointment.
The more that I know about someone’s life, the easier it is to understand and help you.
About Me
I am a board-certified Adult, Adolescent, and Child Psychiatrist and a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus at New York University Medical Center. I earned my medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara Facultad de Medicina, then completed my residency in Adult Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child Psychiatry at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.
I bring decades of experience treating patients across the lifespan who face a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorders, mood disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, Asperger’s, and Intellectual Disabilities. I also have special expertise in postpartum psychiatric disorders and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders (OCD).
I am experienced and welcoming to gay patients and families with children, and I strive to create a supportive and inclusive space for all individuals.
I do not participate in insurance plans. However, I see Medicare-eligible patients and charge Medicare rates. However, I am happy to complete any necessary medical forms so you may seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.
I maintain two offices:
In Brooklyn, New York, my office is very accessible via subway and bus, just a short walk from major public transit. There is on-site parking available to you, as well.
In South Florida (covering the area from Fort Lauderdale to Delray), my office is conveniently located near public bus routes and we have plentiful on-site parking that is handicap accessible.
